More than 20,000 Texas A&M University students will complete service projects for more than 2,600 residents in the Bryan-College Station area this Saturday, March 24 during the 36th Annual Big Event.

Students will gather at The Zone Plaza outside of Kyle Field for a 9:15 a.m. Yell Practice before they grab equipment and disperse throughout the Bryan-College Station community to complete service projects, which include home repairs, cleaning and yard maintenance among many other tasks for residents in need.

Since the first Big Event in 1982, the day of gratitude and selfless service to the community has become the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation. Students have completed more than 870,000 total service hours since the Big Event’s inception. The event inspired students at other universities across the country to create their own Big Event-style days of service and give back to their communities.
