The Texas A&M University Libraries announced today that the West Campus Library will be renamed the Business Library and Collaboration Commons (BLCC) effective immediately.

The renaming coincides with the 25th anniversary of the library on West Campus and reflects its relationship with Mays Business School.

“As we approach our 25th anniversary of assisting students, faculty, and staff from the Mays Business School, as well as others located on the west side of campus, the timing is perfect to introduce this new name,” said Jared Hoppenfeld, director of the BLCC. “Our resources, services, and subject librarians are all business-focused, so changing our name to reflect this makes sense. At the same time, we are a space that is open to everyone and collaboration can be observed throughout our building at all hours of the day and night.”

The BLCC serves Mays Business School and provides access to a large collection of business research tools. It also offers printing services, open access computers and group and individual study spaces.

The Libraries will host a 25th anniversary event for the BLCC during the fall, with more details coming out later this summer.
