Texas A&M University former student group Aggie Women Network invite the university community to its annual awards luncheon on Friday, Oct. 27 from noon-2pm at the MSC Bethancourt Ballroom on the Texas A&M campus.

Gen. Mark A. Welsh III (ret.), interim president of Texas A&M, will deliver remarks and award this year’s Eminent Scholar, Regents Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Cyclotron Institute Dr. Sherry J. Yennello. The award honors women faculty who serve as role models for all students, and are recognized for their outstanding research, scholarship and service.

Additionally during the event, two former students will receive the 2023 Legacy Award: Sheila Kelliher Berkoh ’88, a captain with the Los Angeles Fire Department; and Marceline J. “Marcy” Newman ’80, retired, former vice president and regional director of Jacobs Engineering, a Dallas-based firm.

Aggie Women Network promotes the active engagement of women in the educational, charitable and cultural life of Texas A&M. The group works to provide opportunities for women former students to connect to students, faculty, staff and other Aggies through mentoring, leadership opportunities and community-building. Its volunteer members endeavor to increase philanthropic ties to A&M and recognize outstanding Aggie Women and faculty.

Tickets to the luncheon may be purchased on the Aggie Women Network website.
