Champion Station now at the Texas A&M Bookstore

Texas A&M University and Champion announce “Champion Station,” the newest way to shop for Champion Aggie-branded gear.

Located in the MSC Barnes & Noble, the display features a wide assortment for Aggie fans including unique vintage designs.

Howdy Week

Texas A&M and Champion will be celebrating the debut of Champion Station during Howdy Week:

Friday, Aug. 18, noon-5 p.m.
In front of
Koldus

The event will feature a live DJ, drinks and snacks, a photobooth and the Champion prize wheel with chances to win free swag.

Additionally, while supplies last, if you spend at least $30 pre-tax on Champion product at the bookstore on Aug. 18, you are eligible for a gift with purchase – a maroon hoodie. Barnes & Noble will place a Champion sticker on your receipt which you’ll bring to the Koldus event. There you can choose one of three exclusive designs that will be heat pressed on the hoodie on site.

A Growing Partnership

HanesBrands is the world’s largest supplier of collegiate fan apparel and Champion is part of HanesBrands’ family of global brands. Texas A&M’s partnership with the company means Aggie fans can count on sustainable products of the highest quality, says Shane Hinckley, A&M’s vice president for brand and business development.

“Texas A&M and Champion are both iconic brands with storied histories and traditions,” Hinckley said. “Welcoming Champion Station into our great university bookstore, directly across from Kyle Field, makes it more convenient than ever for Aggie fans to show their spirit. And this is just the beginning; we have much more on the horizon including a ’70s vault collection rolling out in 2024.”

Holley Scott, general manager of the campus Barnes & Noble, says she and her staff are excited to show off Champion Station to customers. “This shop brings excitement with new signage, fixtures, displays, lighting and most importantly, an expanded Champion product line in both men’s and women’s apparel,” she said. “We’re super excited for the students to see all the new merchandise in our Champion Station when they arrive back on campus during Howdy Week.”

Now in business for more than 100 years, Champion was the first company to outfit sports teams in branded gear; in 1929, the company introduced the reverse weave hoodie. As part of the partnership, Champion’s “University Student Development Commitment” will provide executive guest speakers for campus events and an opportunity for one A&M student per year to intern with the company.

John Fryer, HanesBrands president of licensed sports apparel, said the company’s partnership with A&M is most special because of Aggie fans. “There are few places in the world with fans as passionate as those in College Station,” he said. “It’s exciting to create this special event to help Aggie fans gear up for the year.”

If you can’t make it to Champion Station in person, you can shop the collection online at 12thManShop.com.
