Texas A&M University is offering free COVID-19 and influenza vaccines to all students, faculty and staff this fall, and the school’s Director of Student Health Services, Dr. Martha Dannenbaum ’83, said both shots are necessary to prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death.

Vaccination from COVID-19 does not protect you against influenza, and the flu shot does not protect against COVID-19, Dannebaum said, encouraging shots for both illnesses as vaccines help the body mount a defense against infection.
