Former Ambassador To Share Insight Into Bush 41’s Foreign Policy

On Monday, Feb. 18, Ambassador Edward P. Djerejian, who served under President George H.W. Bush, will visit Texas A&M University to share his insights on the former president’s foreign policy.

The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by Ambassador Djerejian’s remarks at 6 p.m. in Hagler Auditorium in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center at Texas A&M.

This event, hosted by the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs in Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service, is free and open to the public. Reservations can be made at bush.tamu.edu/events.

Djerejian’s presentation will focus on President Bush’s foreign policy, including underscoring coalition building, the Middle East, China, and the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Djerejian currently serves as founding Director of Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. He held the position of Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs under President George H.W. Bush, and he is the former U.S. Ambassador to Syria and Israel. In addition to President Bush, Ambassador Djerejian also worked under Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton during his more than 30 years of public service.
