Scowcroft Institute, Glasscock Center To Sponsor WWI Conference

A Global Turning Point conference logoThree departments at Texas A&M will host a conference on World War I, titled “1917: A Global Turning Point in History and Memory.”  The conference will be held at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center on March 1-2.

The Scowcroft Institute for International Affairs at the Bush School of Government and Public Service, the Glasscock Center for Humanities Research, and the France/TAMU Institute will welcome a range of historians and scholars to campus for the conference.

The two-day conference will begin with a breakfast, followed by individual sessions led by speakers from across disciplines and around the globe. Texas A&M professors Adam Sipp, Elizabeth Cobbs, and Charlotte Ku will present as well as professors from the United States Air Force Academy, Indiana University, and Brandeis University. The conference will also host two international speakers: Stéphane Audoin-Rouzeau, director at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, and Nicolas Werth, research director at the National Center for Scientific Research and senior fellow at the Institute of Contemporary History, Paris.
