The George Bush Presidential Library Center’s Community Christmas — modeled after the tree lighting ceremony that takes place annually on the White House grounds – is planned for Thursday (Dec. 3) at 7 p.m. and will include musical entertainment, a celebrity guest tree lighter and a public reception.

Throughout the month, people are encouraged to take their family pictures in front of the beautifully decorated and lit tree.

Local business owners are invited to come early and join the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours from 5:30-7 p.m. in the rotunda. This is an excellent networking opportunity and chance to find out how the chamber can help you and your business.

Texas A&M University and Blinn College students with valid identification will receive free admission to the library and all exhibits.

The mission of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is to preserve and make available the records and artifacts of George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the United States. The staff at the library works to promote civic literacy and increased historical understanding of our national experience, and foster a community of public service and volunteerism. Located on the campus of Texas A&M University – a premier public Tier 1 research university and home to more than 50,000 students – the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is part of the National Archives and Records Administration’s Presidential Libraries system.

The Bush Library is located at 1000 George Bush Drive West, College Station, TX, and is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the exceptions of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Museum is fully handicapped accessible. For more information, call 979-691-4000 or go to bush41.org.
