“Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Dr. Duke personally, I am well aware of his exemplary work in trauma surgery and related areas of the medical profession–particularly the Life Flight program that he pioneered and which has undoubtedly helped save countless lives of victims of car accidents and other dire emergency situations. I know he loved Texas A&M and I know Aggies everywhere held him in the highest regard. In addition to being a great surgeon, Dr. Duke was a great Aggie, a great Texan and a great American, and he will be sorely missed. On behalf of the entire Texas A&M family, I extend heartfelt condolences to members of his family as they cope with their great loss–a loss in which we all share.”
