All of current/former military who are graduating in May 2015 are invited to a reception hosted by the Veteran Resource & Support Center Wednesday 13 May from 3:00 – 5:00 in the Stark Galleries (1st Floor of the MSC).

During the reception, the center will present graduating student veterans with a red, white & blue cord to wear at graduation to honor their service to our country. This is a “come & go” event (i.e., no requirement to stay the entire time), but this year the event will have brief remarks at 3:15 p.m.

The brief remarks are part of the new tradition. The center also will recognize Student Veterans of the Year and Faculty/Staff Veteran Supporter of the Year. Please help us expand our Aggie Veteran Recognition Programs that will greatly improve support for student veterans in the future.

Here’s how the reception works:

The other part of the new tradition also includes the following: You will be provided with a “Faculty/Staff Thank You Challenge Coin” that you can give to the Faculty/Staff member of your choice to say “Thanks for the help.”

We’ll step in front of the colors and present veterans with their cord and there will be a photographer to take a picture to commemorate the event…student vets can download copies free of charge.

Spouses, children and any guests are VERY welcome. Light refreshments are provided.
