How do I know if I am eligible to vote?

  • If your permanent residence is in Texas, you should have already registered by the Oct. 11 deadline. Not sure if you’re registered? Visit the Texas Secretary of State’s Am I Registered? website to find out.
  • If you are from out of state, check with your state’s election officials for registration and ballot-by-mail information.

My permanent address is in Texas, but I’m from out of town. How do I vote?

  • First, you will need to find out which district you are in. Visit the Texas Secretary of State’s “Am I Registered?” website to find out to find out where your voting precinct is.
  • Once you know where your precinct is, you can vote early by mail if you claimed your home (or address where you live while not attending school) as your primary residence. To request that an early voting ballot be sent to the address where you are physically planning to be at election time (e.g.,at school), you must fill out an early voting ballot request application. • Note: the last day to apply for ballot-by-mail is Oct. 28 (received, not postmarked).

I’m registered to vote in Brazos County. Where can I vote?

  • If you want to vote on Election Day Nov. 8, you can find a voting center convenient for you. Election Day polling hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Ballots by mail must be received by Nov. 8.

Is there anything I should know before I head to my polling place?
