Old Is The New Yell Leader

Like anything else, College of Liberal Arts senior and new yell leader Spencer Old says becoming a full-fledged Aggie takes practice.

“Get out of your comfort zone and get involved on campus,” Old said. “Texas A&M has so many things to offer, and the only way to really experience and understand those things is to get out and experience it for yourself.”

While Old, who studies political science, credits the Corps of Cadets for the inspiration to become a yell leader, he says Liberal Arts has also given him the necessary leadership skills.

“My time as a Liberal Arts student has taught me valuable communication, presentation, and public speaking skills that will definitely help me as a yell leader and in my career after college,” he said. “My classes have also taught me how to better interact with others and come up with ideas even when our opinions might be different.”
