During a ceremony on campus, Texas A&M officials thanked Sasser for his military service and unveiled an exhibit area where his medal will be housed in the MSC’s Medal of Honor Hall of Honor alongside seven other medal recipients.
As a leader among his fellow Aggies, Crawford, a senior and member of the Corps of Cadets Company E-2, says that since becoming head yell leader, he strives even more than ever to apply the Aggie core values to his daily life.
His dedicated search of archives, family collections and scores of other resources gather, for the first time, the complete stories of these seven courageous men.
“All active duty, National Guard, Reserve and U.S. military veterans who have served honorably are authorized to receive the cord that signifies the appreciation Texas A&M University has for our military and veteran students for their service and sacrifice.”
Participation in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets has been optional since 1965, but more than 2,300 young men and women elected to join the corps this fall.
President Bush and the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation will present the George Bush Award for Excellence in Public Service posthumously to President Ronald Reagan.
