Princeton Review Ranks Texas A&M Among Nation’s Best Colleges

Texas A&M University is ranked No. 14 in the category of Best Value among public schools in the 2021 Princeton Review rankings of the top 386 colleges in the U.S.

The publication says it defines best value based on three main qualities: stellar academics, affordable costs and strong career prospects for graduates.

“Students who attend these schools don’t have to mortgage their futures to pay for their degrees — and we believe they will graduate with great career prospects,” the Princeton Review says of its criteria.

“We chose our Best Value Colleges for 2021 based on data we collected from fall 2019 through fall 2020 via our institutional and student surveys and from PayScale.com on alumni career and salary statistics. Broadly speaking, we weighted more than 40 data points covering academics, costs, financial aid, debt, grad rates, and career/salary data.”

In other rankings, Texas A&M is No. 12 in the public category of Best Value without aid (for students who do not quality for financial aid) and is also ranked No. 12 in Best Career Placement among public schools (based on student ratings of career services at their school, as well as on PayScale.com’s salary information for alumni).

In addition, Texas A&M is rated No. 19 in the category of Best Schools for Internships, which is based on student ratings of accessibility of internship placement at their school.

Texas A&M has fared well in similar recent rankings.

MONEY magazine has ranked Texas A&M as the top university in Texas and No. 11 overall in the country. The magazine also ranks Texas A&M as No. 5 in its best public schools list, which tops all Texas schools.

In other rankings, Texas A&M is ranked No. 12 overall and No. 4 among public universities in the United States by Washington Monthly magazine in its annual college rankings. Texas A&M is the only school in Texas ranked among the top 70 in the publication’s national rankings, and is the highest ranked Southeastern Conference school.

Also, Texas A&M is ranked No. 2 among Southern schools in Washington Monthly’s “Best Bang For The Buck” category of how well a college helps non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.

Texas A&M remains the only public college in Texas to make the “Best Buys” list in the 2021 Fiske Guide to Colleges, a listing that cites the best colleges that offer a superior education for the most affordable cost.

In addition, Texas A&M has impressive listings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Graduate School Rankings, with the College of Engineering, School of Law, Mays Business School, Bush School of Government and Public Service. and others faring well in the prestigious rankings.
