Parsons Mounted Cavalry To Host 50th Anniversary Celebration On Saturday

The free community event will include cadet-led tours of the unit’s facilities at Fiddler’s Green.

Texas A&M University’s Parsons Mounted Cavalry will hold an open house on Saturday to celebrate its 50th anniversary as a special unit of the Corps of Cadets.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fiddler’s Green, 3748 F&B Road in College Station.

The celebration will feature cadet-led tours of the Fiddler’s Green facilities and photo opportunities. Members of the Parsons Mounted Cavalry will be available to answer questions about the special unit, which is the nation’s only collegiate mounted cavalry unit.

Local artist Benjamin Knox will unveil a special commemorative piece of art at the event.

Admission is free.
