Summer Commencement Set For Aug. 12

Texas A&M University will conduct its main-campus summer commencement exercises Friday (Aug. 12) during two ceremonies in Reed Arena.

Approximately 1,850 students on the main campus are scheduled to receive degrees this summer. Additionally, more than 125 degrees are scheduled to be awarded to students studying at other locations: Texas A&M University at Galveston, Texas A&M University at Qatar, the Texas A&M University Health Science Center and the Texas A&M University School of Law.

The Reed Arena ceremony, at 9 a.m. Friday, will include graduates of the Bush School of Government and Public Service, graduates and undergraduates in the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Mays Business School, Liberal Arts, Science and Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

The second ceremony, at 2 p.m., will include graduates and undergraduates in the Colleges of Architecture, Education and Human Development, Engineering, Geosciences, Nursing and Public Health. This ceremony will include commissioning of approximately 30 graduating seniors in the Corps of Cadets who will be entering the armed services as officers.

Office of the Registrar officials and Corps of Cadets representatives emphasize the precise number of students graduating and receiving commissions will not be determined until closer to the actual times of the ceremonies.
