Bush School Program Ranked In Top Five

A survey conducted by Foreign Policy magazine ranks the master’s program in international affairs at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University in the top five among international affairs programs at U.S. public institutions and in the top 20 of U.S. international affairs programs overall.

Gregory Gause, head of the Department of International Affairs, said these rankings are a positive reflection on the department’s faculty and students.

“Our faculty are a unique blend of academicians and experienced practitioners,” said Gause. “This enables us to provide our students with a broader academic experience, which prepares them for a range of careers in public service.”

The variety of organizations where Bush School international affairs graduates work reflects the career options available to them. International affairs graduates are employed by federal agencies such as the CIA, the FBI, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as government contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. Some graduates choose nonprofit agencies such as Habitat for Humanity, or private sector companies like Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“Our graduates are highly recruited because employers recognize that a Bush School degree means they are proven leaders and committed to public service careers,” Gause said. “I believe that is reflected in these recent rankings.”
