When SMU takes on No. 10 Texas A&M Saturday at Kyle Field, there will be more on the line for the former Southwest Conference foes than just the game.
The directors of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University and the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Southern Methodist University are making a friendly wager on the game and each offering up something representative of the university where their library is located.
Warren Finch, director of the Bush Library and Museum in College Station, is wagering prime rib from Texas A&M’s Rosenthal Meat Science and Technology Center. “There’s nothing that beats one of these prime ribs, nothing,” Finch said.
Alan Lowe, director of the Bush Library and Museum in Dallas, is wagering “Mustang Bread,” a specialty on the SMU campus. “It’s pretty amazing and the recipe is a closely guarded secret,” Lowe said.
