Texas A&M Army ROTC Cadets Win ‘Bold Leader’ Ranger Challenge

Last weekend, Texas A&M’s Army ROTC cadets won the 1st Brigade, Cadet Command, Ranger Challenge competition held at Fort Knox, Ky.

A total of 18 teams from 10 Army ROTC senior and junior military colleges from across the country took part in the event that tested cadets physically and mentally. Texas A&M entered two teams, with Team 1 topping the standings. A Virginia Military Institute team took second place, and a team from Virginia Tech was third. Cadets squared off in a dozen events, including land navigation, marksmanship, grenades, stream crossing and rappelling.

Texas A&M advances to be the 1st Brigade representative competing in the annual Sandhurst Competition at West Point, N.Y., in April.
