Texas A&M University has been built upon a tradition of leadership and fellowship. Occasionally, an individual can be found who exemplifies the meaning of leadership beyond teaching and leading – exhibiting qualities such as caring, compassion and motivation. Dr. John J. Koldus III, Vice President Emeritus for Student Services, is one of those exceptional people. His service to students went beyond the confines of his responsibilities and has merited him recognition in the form of a faculty and staff achievement award named in his honor.

The John J. Koldus III Faculty and Staff Achievement Award is given to an outstanding faculty or staff member for strong interest in student growth, education, and unity. The nominee should be an A&M faculty or staff member who through guidance, leadership, and personal interest, has gone beyond occupational requirements to enhance students’ experiences at A&M and, subsequently, the rest of their lives.

Students, student organizations, faculty and staff may nominate an individual for this award. The online nomination forms and process, available at http://dsaawards.tamu.edu/koldus, must be submitted by 5 p.m. March 5. One nomination letter and two letters of support may be submitted with the nomination form. The award recipient will be announced at the May 5th Division of Student Affairs Awards Ceremony and will receive a plaque and the opportunity to designate a $2,000 honorarium to a Texas A&M student organization or student activity.

Questions regarding the award or nomination process may be addressed to Margaret McGraw, Chair of the Koldus Award Selection Committee, a mmcgraw@vpsa.tamu.edu.
