Hiring Of Dr. Alexander Kemos

Dr. Alexander Kemos will serve as Associate Executive Vice President for Operations for Texas A&M University.

Effective March 1, 2009, Dr. Alexander Kemos will serve as Associate Executive Vice President for Operations for Texas A&M University.  Dr. Kemos will work closely with the Office of the Executive Vice President for Operations in management, oversight and strategic planning in areas such as facilities and operations, governmental affairs, athletics, transportation services, dining services, marketing and communications, and university advancement.  Specifically, he will work to engage the Office of the Executive Vice President for Operations into academic discussions related to construction, facilities, research, real estate and physical plant priorities, as well as maintain and build relationships with stakeholders across the University.

We are fortunate to have someone with Dr. Kemos’ broad experience and expertise join our team. Prior to his new role at Texas A&M, Dr. Kemos was Executive Vice President for Corporate Development and founding partner at Nordic American Group (Dallas, Texas, and Oslo, Norway). While at Nordic American, Kemos developed and managed a practice in University strategy and operations, whose clients have included Texas A&M, Harvard University, and ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland). He also has extensive international management consulting and senior executive leadership experience, having provided strategic consultation and management services to Hewlett-Packard, E.I. DuPont Nemours, and UnumProvident. He has direct experience in new business development and executive management, having served as Corporate Director of Strategic Planning and Development at IDEXX Labs, and as Chief Executive Officer of AgInfoLink Global (AGIL).

Dr. Kemos received his master’s and doctorate at the Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and has taught political science and historical studies at Harvard University. He is fluent in Greek, Arabic, and French.

Dr. Kemos replaces Dr. Larry Boleman, who was recently named associate vice chancellor for outreach and strategic initiatives for Texas A&M AgriLife. Vice Presidents Jason Cook, Chuck Sippial, Courtney Trolinger and Chad Wootton along with Associate Vice Presidents Charley Clark and Lallah Howard will continue to report directly to me.
