Fred McClure broke ground in 1976 when he became the Texas A&M’s first Black student body president. He went on to serve three U.S. presidents and hold numerous leadership positions in the 45 years that followed.
Chef Luke Rayford has cooked at Texas A&M dining hall for 34 years. In addition to serving thousands of Aggies every day, he cooks turkeys for hundreds of local families every Thanksgiving.
Mary Ruth Patranella was the university's longest-serving staff member at the time of her retirement in 2010 from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
