Participating universities presented their engineering solutions for issues affecting the planet. Finalists showcased their innovations virtually this year due to COVID-19.
In the end, it was a team of six students from Brazil who took home first place for their innovative idea that could benefit millions of people with a vision impairment.
Teams representing Texas A&M, James Madison University, Greece, Brazil and Wales will meet in College Station for a showcase and final competition April 23-24 for a chance to win the $3,000 top prize.
