Texas A&M University — in collaboration with Make Something Beautiful, a Texas-based video production company — has received six awards from The American Advertising Awards, including Best of Show and four golds in the Fort Worth Region.

In fall 2021, Texas A&M launched its “Where You Belong” campaign, a series of videos highlighting current and former Texas A&M students and the diversity and breadth of options at the nation’s largest public university. This campaign was kicked off by a video titled “The Meeting,” which told the love story of Aggie kicker Seth Small and his now-wife, Rachel. Since the initial release, Texas A&M has posted several videos in the campaign on the Aggiebound YouTube channel.

“We are thrilled and humbled that the AAA loved the stories our students have to tell,” said Lindsay Gasek, director of recruitment marketing at Texas A&M. “It’s a testament to the amazing work of Make Something Beautiful and the amazing stories of Texas A&M students. Nowhere else can you find this many students with different interests, passions and career paths collaborating and excelling together. It’s not just a tagline, Texas A&M can be where anyone belongs.”

Make Something Beautiful is an award-winning Fort Worth-based video production company that creates films, commercials, documentaries, photography and other creative works used for brand-building and marketing. Texas A&M and Make Something Beautiful first began their partnership in 2021, when they set a casting call for Aggies to tell their unique stories.

“So proud. A huge thanks to our team that made the magic happen,” said Warren Cook, owner and creative director of Make Something Beautiful. “Another big thanks goes to Lindsay Gasek at Texas A&M University for trusting us to do what we do. Wow, Best of Show. What’s next? More beautiful things.”

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting nearly 30,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.

Texas A&M and Make Something Beautiful received Best of Show for “Where You Belong,” golds for “The Bugs,” “The Sea,” “The Performance” and “Visitor Center,” and a silver for “The Meeting.” All golds will move onto the District level and then onto Nationals.
