Texas A&M University will award approximately 5,504 degrees to fall graduates at seven in-person commencement ceremonies this month. Commencements in College Station and Galveston will be held Dec. 11-18 for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students.

“The upcoming holiday season will be especially meaningful as we congratulate thousands of new Aggie graduates on their well-earned degrees,” said Interim Provost and Executive Vice President Timothy P. Scott ’89. “We celebrate their achievements, even more so in light of the global pandemic. Congratulations to each graduate and their friends and family.”

Face coverings are strongly recommended for all graduates, guests and university staff while inside university facilities and throughout the duration of the ceremony.

The university has incorporated additional safety measures in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Public health experts and administrative officials at Texas A&M University strongly recommend all attendees get a COVID-19 test prior to attending the commencement ceremonies and follow CDC travel guidelines. The university strongly discourages high-risk individuals from attending the ceremonies. All seven ceremonies will be televised live by KAMU-TV and livestreamed via the KAMU website at www.kamutvfm.org.

Graduates will have their names called and walk the stage, then return to their seats. Diplomas will be mailed after the ceremony. Diploma tubes will be provided at the ceremonies for photographs.

School officials note commencements are a celebration of each student’s accomplishments, and every effort is made to ensure safety, security and decorum of a public event befitting their success. Guests are encouraged to refrain from disruptive behaviors, which may negatively impact this special moment for students and their families. Clear bags are also required at all commencement ceremonies at Reed Arena.
