Aggie Student Shares Experience Achieving A&M-NAACP First, Leading Campus Gospel Choir

Lawren Walker ’22, a junior English major from Houston, has been a member of the Texas A&M NAACP Chapter since her freshman year, and today holds the new “Women in NAACP Chair,” a first for the 30-year-old chapter. Walker said she enjoys advocating for women and children, as well as for underrepresented students at Texas A&M. Also a student worker in the Office for Diversity, Walker spends her rare off-time leading the 15-member campus gospel choir Voices of Praise.
