Texas A&M University has announced the 2021 Accountability, Climate and Equity (ACE ) Award winners, who will be officially recognized April 14 during a virtual awards ceremony on campus that will be streamed at 11 a.m. on the Department of Multicultural Services YouTube page.

Recipients will be honored for their commitment to the Aggie core value of Respect, which includes respectful treatment of others, affirming and encouraging individuals to take pride in their social and cultural identities and including everyone in the definition of the “Aggie Family.”

The ACE Awards were formerly known as the Texas A&M Diversity Awards. According to the awards criteria, they “recognize the appreciation of our diversity, which involves an exploration of individual differences in a safe, positive, welcoming and nurturing, academic environment. The ACE Awards center around the three overarching goals of the university’s Diversity Plan: Accountability, Climate, and Equity, which are infused throughout the award categories.”

“The Office for Diversity is proud to join the campus community in honoring the hard work and dedication of the students, faculty, and staff who have committed their time and energy to elevating diversity, equity, and inclusion at Texas A&M University,” said Anne McGowan, interim vice president and associate provost for diversity.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to the 2021 ACE Awards winners who have brilliantly demonstrated shared responsibility for promoting accountability, a positive campus climate and equity,” she said. “The work demonstrated by both the nominees and recipients of the awards is essential to our continued progress toward the implementation of Texas A&M University’s Diversity Plan goals. Congratulations and thank you for being a part of the village.”

The ACE Awards are sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, Office for Diversity, Department of Multicultural Services, Disability Resources, Women’s Resource Center, Aggie Allies, LGBTQ+ Pride Center, Health Promotion, and Student Government Association Diversity Commission.
