Leading Our Great University

Howdy!

When I joined Texas A&M 10 years ago, I could not have imagined the impact this university would have on me and my family. Yesterday, when The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents confirmed my selection as president, I was both humbled and honored. I’m grateful for their confidence in my leadership, and excited by the many opportunities we have to work together to strengthen and advance this great institution.

I will officially take office on June 1. I look forward to meeting with and learning from key stakeholders across campus and beyond in order to understand your perspectives, learn more about your challenges and envision our many opportunities.

As we prepare for the months ahead, I want you to know that we are focusing on a safe return to campus this fall. My top priority is to ensure the health and safety of our entire university community. I’ve been vaccinated and encourage others to get vaccinated as well.

I am confident that with the caliber of our faculty, the “can do” spirit of our students and staff, and our willingness to step forward, we are positioned to elevate this university to new levels of preeminence.
