Faculty, Staff and Students:
We hope that you are recovering from last week’s winter storm as we all welcome the warmer weather this week in Aggieland. Thank you again to our facilities, utilities and dining teams for working around the clock to maintain power, control leaks, restore water levels and maintain food service in our dining halls. We appreciate our students off campus in heeding safety messages and those on campus who made sacrifices to conserve water. We thank the many students, faculty and staff who volunteered to help to quickly identify leaks, support the Reed Arena warming center, and serve others in many ways.
Status of on-campus operations for tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 24):
In-person classes for students and work for employees resume Feb. 24 to pre-storm levels with the exception of three buildings or rooms listed below that are impacted and being repaired:
• Horticulture/Forest Science Building (HFSB)
• Jack E. Brown Engineering Building (CHEN)
• Joe C. Richardson Petroleum Engineering Building (RICH) – Rooms 114, 313, 319
Students with classes in these areas should attend virtually and nonessential employees should work virtually. More information will be sent to those directly affected.
If you are attending class or working on campus, heat is on in buildings, but be advised that some areas may still be warming. Therefore, we recommend that you wear a jacket or bring one in case needed. Please do not bring personal space heaters or other portable heating devices, as these pose potential safety risks and can trip circuit breakers, causing outages.
Enhanced HVAC air exchanges are in operation, in keeping with COVID-19 safety protocols.
Increased COVID-19 testing locations and hours Feb. 24-27:
Public health officials are encouraging the Aggie community to take advantage of increased COVID-19 testing on the Texas A&M campus through Saturday, as sites were limited last week. Make it a habit to test regularly.
Those without signs of illness are encouraged to visit any of the five Texas A&M locations offering the saliva test; these sites do not require an appointment or insurance. Results are available within one to two business days. Testing is available for any faculty, staff, student or contract worker at Texas A&M, but is not open to the public.

Thank you again for your spirit of cooperation over the last difficult week. Please remember to continue to be vigilant in observing the COVID-19 safety protocols of wearing a face covering, maintaining six feet of distance from others, washing hands frequently, testing to know your status, and remaining home if ill.
We are grateful to have weathered the storm and look forward to the upcoming spring.
