Faculty, Staff and Students,

Continued hazardous weather and rolling power outages again have prompted the cancelation of both in-person and virtual classes for students, and work for nonessential employees Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18.

Texas A&M University will review scheduling options for make-up work for classes. For information about other Texas A&M University System schools, please consult each university’s website and social media channels.

On Friday, Feb. 19, classes will be virtual-only as will work for nonessential employees.

We will continue to monitor ongoing conditions and provide an update by 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Today the university, in collaboration with the Red Cross and other community partners, announced the opening of a warming shelter at Reed Arena through noon on Thursday. There are no cots to rest on; limited blankets and water are available. Please see announcement for guidance on what to bring should you choose to relocate.

The National Weather Service has a guide that details how to deal with cold weather.

Thank you and please take care!
