Texas A&M University’s crowdfunding initiative, Spirit of Giving, is currently accepting applications for projects with a deadline of Jan. 10. The Spirit of Giving allows donors to directly connect with their project-of-choice featured on the new website.

Recognized student organizations, faculty and staff who need donations for a Texas A&M-related project and have a good story to tell about it can apply.

To learn about successful projects and how Spirit of Giving works, read the FAQ. Those interested in launching a crowdfunding campaign that benefits Texas A&M, complete the required application.

A crowdfunding team of 2-5 individuals with a strong social network, engaged audience and a marketing plan are the most successful, said Spirit of Giving officials. Individuals whose projects have been selected for the program site must complete at least two training meetings.

Projects will be launched on the website on the following schedule:

  • Jan. 10: Applications due
  • Jan. 22: Applicants notified of selection
  • Jan. 25-Feb. 8: Training and story development for accepted projects
  • Jan. 15: Project is live to accept donations for 45 days
