As Aggies, we know community extends beyond zip codes. Current and former students alike are aligned with selflessly helping others – no matter where they are. It’s part of who we are and what we do. Now more than ever, we need each other’s help, starting here in Aggieland.

While we watch and see the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are ways to help right here at home. While the campus currently remains quiet, a team of dedicated leaders is committed to supporting, promoting and showcasing exemplary local businesses doing their part in this time of need.

Across Bryan-College Station, business owners have shifted their daily operations to adapt to what’s now the new normal. From curbside pickup and delivery making meals easier, to carryout cocktails to lift our spirits, our favorite Aggieland eateries are helping bring some hospitality to home. From the beginning, essential retailers have worked tirelessly stocking their shelves, helping to keep our pantries and fridges filled.

On the front lines, medical professionals have risen to a new level of dedication to care and compassion. Even by simply keeping the doors open, the effort so far has been tremendous in helping employees continue their livelihood, avoiding disruption in wages needed to thrive and survive.

Shane Hinckley, vice president of brand development at Texas A&M, said the University launched the Support Aggieland initiative in an effort to “help those who have helped us over the years.”

Texas A&M is happy to support our local businesses and essential service providers who help make the Aggieland experience so special for our students, and the community,” Hinckley said. “We are hopeful our fans and the residents of Aggieland will find ways to show their appreciation and support to these locallyowned businesses and firstresponders.

As a world, we’ll work to overcome. Together, with outreach and optimism, we can make an impact locally while we #SupportAggieland.
