The Texas A&M University student-led Maroon Out organization revealed today its 2019 T-shirt design and plans to expand the Maroon Out tradition from one game to a full football season.

The T-shirt, sold exclusively through retail partners C.C. Creations, the Texas A&M campus Barnes & Noble Bookstore and Aggieland Outfitters, will give Aggies access to a wide array of events, including the Maroon Out Tailgate and exclusive pop up events throughout the 2019 football season.

Maroon Out Head Director Colleen Russell said the switch to a year-round celebration will help build comradery within the Aggie community and raise more money for scholarships and Class Councils.

“Maroon Out is excited to expand the Maroon Out tradition to every home game,” Maroon Out Director of Logistics Harrison Buenger said. “Join us this football season as we celebrate Aggie Tradition and Yell like it’s 1998.”

The 2019 Maroon Out shirts will be available exclusively at The Warehouse at C.C. Creations, Barnes & Noble Bookstore at Texas A&M and Aggieland Outfitters. Shirts are available online through The Warehouse at C.C. Creations.

The Maroon Out tradition began in 1998 when fans were encouraged to wear maroon T-shirts to Kyle Field to create a “Sea of Maroon” that would wash out the red and white-clad fans of the defending national champion No. 2 Nebraska Cornhuskers at Kyle Field. Arguably, the extra boost of Aggie spirit worked, as the Aggies defeated the Huskers 28-21. The spike in shirt sales led to a national shortage of maroon T-shirts.

This year’s design pays tribute to Maroon Out’s founding with a vintage design and upgraded hardiness to support a full season of wear at Aggie Football.

Funds raised through the sales of Maroon Out T-shirts support class gifts and a scholarship that has raised more than $150,000 in the past 10 years. Maroon Out also supports Aggie traditions including Ring Dance, Elephant Walk, Pull Out Day, Fish Fest and the Class Councils Aggie Rings for Veterans Endowment.

“Beginning in 1998, C.C. Creations has been a proud partner of Maroon Out in support of their mission of giving back to Texas A&M University through various tradition-based programs,” C.C. Creations and Maroon U CEO Kenny Lawson said. “From art creation to printing the actual Maroon Out T-shirts, it’s important to me and our company to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.”
