‘Highly Cited’ List Includes 10 Texas A&M Faculty Members

Clarivate Analytics releases its fifth-annual database of international researchers in 21 fields of science and social sciences who have received large citation counts over a decade.

Clarivate Analytics has named 10 faculty-researchers from Texas A&M University to its Highly Cited Researchers list for 2018. The annual list identifies influential researchers from around the world who are recognized by their peers in the form of high citation counts over a decade.

“The A&M researchers who qualified for this year’s list represent the scope of the Texas A&M research enterprise, from science and engineering to business and liberal arts,” Vice President for Research Mark A. Barteau said. “We are proud of their accomplishments as well as those of our many other outstanding researchers who contribute every day to advancing human knowledge and to improving society and the world around us.”

This is the fifth year Clarivate Analytics has published its Highly Cited Researchers list, which recognizes 4,058 researchers in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences. According to the list, the 10 faculty-researchers from Texas A&M are:

  • Ronald DeVore, University Distinguished Professor, Department of Mathematics, College of Science.
  • Philip Hemmer, professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering.
  • Michael A. Hitt, University Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Department of Management, Mays Business School.
  • Tingwen Huang, professor, Science Program, Qatar campus.
  • Duane Ireland, University Distinguished Professor, Department of Management, Mays Business School.
  • N. Reddy, University Distinguished Professor, J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering.
  • Brandon Schmeichel, professor, Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, College of Liberal Arts.
  • Raghavan Srinivasan, professor, Department of Ecosystem Science and Management, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
  • Guoyao Wu, University Distinguished Professor, Department of Animal Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
  • Hongcai “Joe” Zhou, professor, Department of Chemistry, College of Science.
