Citing late President George H.W. Bush’s commitment to public service and “a life that exemplified Texas A&M University’s core values,” the Texas A&M System Board of Regents adopted a resolution pledging the school’s commitment to honoring his legacy at its regular meeting Thursday, Jan. 17.

Bush was buried alongside his wife of 73 years, First Lady Barbara Bush, on the grounds of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018.

Honorary pallbearers during campus ceremonies included System Chancellor John Sharp and Board of Regents Chair Charles Schwartz, who signed the resolution.

Agenda Item No. 51 resolved that Texas A&M “will do everything in its collective power, through the Bush School of Government and Public Service and the George H.W. Bush Presidential Center including his Presidential Library and Museum, to keep his memory and inspiring accomplishments alive for all time.”
