The Texas A&M University Department of Residence Life will host a grand opening for the newly constructed White Creek Community Center (WCCC) Friday, Sept. 14 from 2-4 p.m.

During the Opening, Reveille will be available for photographs. There will be tours, cake, punch and free t-shirts to the first 1,000 visitors. Creekside Market, the Multipurpose & Game Rooms, the Music Practice & Video Game Rooms, and Community Learning Center will be open.  The outdoor basketball & volleyball courts will also be available for play.

The new facility features a community learning center with an open access lab, game room, video pods, music practice rooms, multipurpose reservation rooms, lounge space, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts as well as a convenience store and multiple dining options.

The WCCC facility serves the on-campus residents of White Creek Apartments on Texas A&&M’s west campus the same way first floor of Hullabaloo Hall and the Southside Commons are for residents of the north and south sides, and the Gardens Apartment Community Center on the northeast side of campus.

The WCCC is filled with natural light, features graphic art depicting the Aggie Core Values and hosts a piece of art from the university’s collection. At night, visitors can see “HOWDY” spelled out in neon light across the front of the building. Additionally, the multipurpose rooms host two of the pieces of wildflower glass that once hung in the Memorial Student Center.

The WCCC houses the Department of Residence Life’s Academic Support Initiatives staff, although their programs and services are distributed across all on-campus housing.

The WCCC is located at 667 West Campus Boulevard across from the White Creek Apartments. Parking is available in Lot 122B. On-campus housing tours of White Creek Apartments begin from the WCCC Information Desk.
