More than 200 current and former Texas A&M University students took part in Pride Houston activities over the weekend in celebration of Houston’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.

Texas A&M’s involvement in Pride Houston, organized by the GLBT Resource Center, included staffing a booth, taking part in an intercollegiate Pride mixer and marching in the parade.

“It was incredibly inspiring to see so many Aggies travel from College Station and around the state to Houston to take part in this celebration and gain new friendships with other GLBT student communities,” said Texas A&M GLBT Resource Center Program Coordinator Chad Mandala.

This year marked the third time the Texas A&M GLBT Resource Center took part in Pride Houston events.

The GLBT Resource Center has been a part of the Offices of the Dean of Student Life since 2007. The office is located in Student Life 3 in the Student Services at White Creek Complex and serves as a resource and referral center for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Aggies and their straight supporters.
