Colleagues,

As you may have heard, The Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) announced today that it has awarded the Triad National Security LLC team, of which the Texas A&M University System, the University of California System, and Battelle Memorial Institute are equal partners, the contract to manage and operate Los Alamos National Laboratory.

You can read today’s announcement by the DOE/NNSA* online.

Until the NNSA issues an official Notice to Proceed, this is all the information that we can offer at this time. I knew that colleagues would want to be aware of this exciting initial announcement and wanted to recognize Dean Banks and faculty and staff within the university and across the university system who were involved in the proposal.

Kind Regards,

Michael K. Young
