Former Texas A&M University football star and All-Pro Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will host the inaugural Mike Evans Family Foundation Celebrity Weekend in College Station May 4-5 to raise scholarship funds for impoverished Texas high school students.

“Everyone deserves an opportunity to be great, so I am thrilled to return to Aggieland and team up with former Texas A&M athletes to help empower and inspire high school students to pursue a college education and a brighter future with scholarships,” Evans said.

The two-day event featuring legendary Texas A&M athletes will include a celebrity basketball game Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at College Station High School in the Competition Gym and a golf outing with silent auction Saturday, May 5 at the Texas A&M University Golf Course, teeing off at 8 a.m. Evans will also be awarding up to $10,000 in college scholarships to local High School students during halftime of the Celebrity Game. Scholarship applications may be submitted online.

Evans and his wife Ashli launched the Mike Evans Family Foundation in 2017 to develop a college scholarship program to help high school seniors from low-income families. Inspiration for the foundation comes from hardships Evans experienced in his own life. The foundation also supports women and families who have experienced domestic violence, according to the official Mike Evans website.

Both events are open to the public, but seating and participation is limited. Tickets for the basketball game and registration for the golf tournament are available on the Mike Evans Celebrity Foundation Weekend website.
