She is a past chair of The Association of Former Students (2014) and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for The Texas A&M Foundation, and she is also the first woman to serve on Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

She has been recognized in the Dallas Business Journal as a ‘Top 25 Industry Leader in Women in Business,’ and by the Profiles in Diversity Journal in the 10th Annual Women Worth Watching edition. Members of the class of 1968 will join Gibson at the ceremony, as the 50th annual class reunion meets in conjunction with the events surrounding Aggie Muster. After Gibson addresses the current and former students, their families and friends, names of each of the deceased will be read aloud during the “Roll Call For The Absent.” Family members and friends representing each of them will respond and light a candle in honor of their loved one.
