Texas A&M Student Team Wins 2017 National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest

The Texas A&M University Poultry Judging Team traveled to Fayetteville, AR to compete in the 2017 National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest, November 6th and 7th.

Eight teams from across the nation competed in the two day competition which was hosted by the University of Arkansas. The contest concluded with Texas A&M winning the 2017 National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest. The team placed first in the Egg Production and Quality and Breed Selection and Carcass Quality.

The team consisted of Zach Heinsohn (1st place – Overall Individual, 2nd place – Individual Score in Egg Production & Quality, 3rd place tie – Individual Score in Breed Selection & Carcass Quality), Halie Williams, Bryce Leopold (2nd place – Overall Individual, 1st place – Individual Score in Breed Selection & Carcass Quality), and Nikolas Faust (5th place – Overall Individual, 4th place – Individual Score in Breed Selection & Carcass Quality).

The team is coached by Dr. Jason Lee and assistant coach Dale Hyatt.
