1. Education A Top Priority During Texas Legislature Special Session

Today marks the start of the Texas Special Session where more than 20 items are on the agenda. The agenda items showcase many of the challenges Texas schools face including legislation on statewide teacher increases, proposals for school administrators regarding teacher hiring and retention, the creation of a commission aimed at fixing the school finance system, and a revamped bill over school vouchers for special education students.

2. Texas A&M State’s Only Public College To Make Fiske College Rankings For 2018

Texas A&M University is the only public college in Texas to appear in the 2018 Fiske Guide to Colleges, a listing which cites the best colleges that offer a superior education for the most affordable cost. The guide grades schools for its best buy list based on academic programs and quality in relation to total cost. In short, the colleges listed are the best bargains for the money.

3. Entrepreneurship Bootcamp For Veterans Underway At Mays

Aspiring veteran entrepreneurs will receive small business management training at Texas A&M University during the annual Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (EBV) July 15-22. This year’s program marks the 10th anniversary of EBV at Texas A&M and comes with a new title and partner.

4. Texas A&M Formula SAE Team Takes Top Prize In Competition

The Texas A&M Formula SAE team won the overall championship at Formula SAE Lincoln in Nebraska against a field of 80 collegiate teams from around the country.

5. Aggies Invent Hosts EnMed And USRG Students

Finding ways to increase the comfort and care of premature babies and help elderly patients live more independent and safe lives were the spotlights of the latest Aggies Invent.
