Texas A&M University’s social media presence passed a major milestone this month, surpassing 150,000 followers on Instagram.
Such a large following on the @TAMU account puts Texas A&M first in the nation among public U.S. universities on the platform and third for all U.S. universities, trailing only Harvard and Stanford.
“Instagram provides such compelling ways to share and showcase the Texas A&M brand,” Krista Smith, Manager of Digital Marketing & Social Media, said. “This growth is a testament to the great work and dedication that our social media team has put into this channel.”
Reaching the 150,000 follower mark on Instagram, which the university joined in 2013, adds to an already large social media following. Texas A&M boasts 591,000 likes on Facebook and 228,000 followers on Twitter alone and has more than 1.3 million audience members across all Texas A&M University social media outlets.
