Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School is hosting a one-day seminar April 28 on big data and predictive analytics, and is extending their invitation to all members of the workforce who work with data.

The event takes place April 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mays Business School at the CityCentre complex near I-10 and Beltway 8 in Houston. Register at tx.ag/bigdata.

The seminar will incorporate predictive methods, significant information on methods and the modern managerial and technical challenges in development and deployment of business analytics. Leading the program is Michael Ketzenberg, an associate professor of information and operations management at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. His research falls under the umbrella of supply chain management and focuses on the value and use of information for inventory management and management of closed loop supply chains, with significant overlap between the two.

Participants are urged to bring a laptop computer. They can expect to learn key concepts of predictive analytics, gain a toolkit of statistics concepts, harness data and modeling techniques to predict business outcomes, and use state-of-the-art software tools to test and compare various methods.
