SXSW 650x430

Texas A&M University will present “The ’47 x FADER Sessions” March 12-14 during the South By Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festival in Austin.

Texas A&M has teamed up with ’47, who has partnered with The FADER, to bring a diverse group of musical acts to perform at the “Texas A&M House” to excite and entertain SXSW attendees. Musical acts will be held each day during the event from 1-5:30 p.m. in the Lady Bird Studio located in the Hotel Van Zandt. Texas A&M has partnered with iconic sports lifestyle brand ’47 for several years.

“Texas A&M has had a longstanding partnership with ’47 to provide Aggies with premium headwear and apparel that is authentic to our brand,” explains Shane Hinckley, vice president of brand development.

“We are excited to be partnering with ’47 and The FADER to host a variety of artists and influencers in an organic ‘sessions’-style setting to help the Texas A&M brand reach a national and global audience of young, progressive listeners, one of the largest demographics at SXSW.”

The FADER, launched in 1999, is an award-winning, New York-based music, style and culture global media company. The FADER brand provides a cross-platform reach across print, digital, mobile, social media, and experiential realms.

Throughout the three-day musical showcase, ’47 will premiere an exclusive line of “Texas A&M House” sportswear, officials note.

For the first time ever, Texas A&M will be participating at SXSW during Interactive Week, March 10-15, showcasing the innovative work happening at the tier-one research institution. SXSW is historically known for bringing together global professionals, brands and cutting-edge vendors from a diverse group of industries, and Texas A&M is one of just a handful of universities showcasing during Interactive Week.

About ’47: ’47 is a sports lifestyle brand founded in Boston, MA, by twin brothers, Arthur and Henry D’Angelo in 1947. Through a combination of hard work, sound instincts and incredible passion, the brothers grew their business from a single street cart to a premier sports lifestyle brand that uniquely melds sport and style. ’47 is a proud partner of MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, NCAA and over 900 collegiate programs.
