12th Annual ‘Aggie 100’ Announced, Features Fastest-Growing Aggie Businesses
Mays Business School’s Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship (CNVE) at Texas A&M University announced Friday night the recipients of the 12th Annual Aggie 100, honoring the fastest-growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses. Members of the exclusive club were honored by hundreds of attendees at a gala held at the Hall of Champions at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.
With revenue growth of 229 percent in 2015, Lone Star Bloom earned the No. 1 spot on this year’s Aggie 100. The Summit Award recipient, presented to the Aggie company with the highest three-year average revenue (2013-2015), was awarded to Genesis Networks Enterprises from San Antonio.
Houston dominated the Aggie 100 list this year with 34 Houston-area companies, followed by Bryan/College Station with 12 companies making the list and 10 companies from the Dallas/Fort Worth-area. Companies from five states and two countries (Great Britain and Guatemala) rounded out the Aggie 100 this year. The complete Aggie 100 list may be found at www.aggie100.com.
“The 12th Annual Aggie 100 is a very impressive representation of Aggie excellence. The companies reflect 1,352 years of experience bringing the best to their respective industries and keeping the Aggie entrepreneurial standards alive and well,” said Richard H. Lester, executive director of the CNVE. “We’re so proud of these top 100 performing Aggie entrepreneurs, and we celebrate the success of all Aggie companies that live by the Aggie Code of Honor: Aggies do not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do. We need more of that in today’s business world.”
The Aggie 100 focuses on growth as an indicator of job creation, product and service acceptance, and entrepreneurial vision. The companies on the Aggie 100 were selected based on compound annual revenue growth rate for the 2013 to 2015 period. In all, companies from nine states were honored at the event. Lansdowne-Moody Co., founded in 1936 in Houston, was the oldest company earning a spot on the list (No. 92).
