Texas A&M University continues to demonstrate its commitment to its core value of “selfless service” and positively impacting the lives of veterans by officially joining Operation Hat Trick (OHT) in anticipation of Veterans Day Nov. 11 and Aggie Football’s Military Appreciation Day game against Ole Miss Nov. 12.

“We are honored to partner with OHT on this important endeavor,” said Shane Hinckley, vice president of brand development at Texas A&M. “From military preparedness through the Corps of Cadets, to education and ongoing support after military service with the Veterans Resource and Support Center on campus, Texas A&M University stands by our military and tremendous service organizations like OHT who support thousands of veterans.”

OHT is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping American service members and veterans recover from the visible and invisible wounds of war by selling merchandise and products and using the proceeds to support organizations that provide direct services and support to veterans.

“Operation Hat Trick is proud to have Texas A&M University be a part of our mission to improve the lives of wounded veterans,” said Dot Sheehan, founder, president and CEO of Operation Hat Trick. “Because of Texas A&M’s proud military history, combined with one of the largest and most dedicated fan bases in the country, we are confident we can have an immediate and meaningful impact.”

Since 2008, OHT has partnered with 338 colleges across the country, as well as with more than 100 high schools, 21 National Hockey League teams, 70 minor league teams and NASCAR and donated more than $400,000 to veterans-related organizations. Those organizations include: Project Sanctuary, The Yellow Ribbon Fund, Easter Seals/Veterans Count, the Navy SEAL Foundation Semper Fi Fund, the Warrior Bonfire Project, Liberty House, Ironstone Farm, Homes For Our Troops and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Fans everywhere are being asked to support OHT’s mission of assisting wounded military veterans by purchasing Texas A&M-OHT branded headwear and apparel from local retailers. Every purchase helps support wounded veterans on their road to recovery.
