Wear Maroon And White Friday, Sept. 2 For College Colors Day

Aggies and fans of Texas A&M are urged by university officials to wear maroon and white to show their school pride Friday in observance of the 12th annual College Colors Day.

Aggies and fans of Texas A&M are urged by university officials to wear maroon and white to show their school pride Friday (Sept. 2) in observance of the 12th annual College Colors Day. They also are being encouraged to take advantage of school pride via social media opportunities to win prizes as part of the national celebration that helps kick off the college football season.

The 12th Man and Texas A&M fans are encouraged to visit collegecolorsday.com to create a custom Texas A&M College Colors Day filter to use as an avatar on social media, notes Texas A&M Vice President for Brand Development Shane Hinckley. From the website, fans can enter to win an all-expenses paid trip to the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship in Tampa Bay, Fla. Fans who share photos and video wearing school colors on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the #CollegeColors hashtag could win Texas A&M gear.

College Colors Days comes one day before the Aggies host UCLA at Kyle Field for the season-opener for both universities.

Fans across the United States are encouraged to wear the apparel of their favorite college or university throughout the day. College Colors Day is celebrated by thousands of organizations, retailers, classrooms and millions of individuals who don their team colors and share their school spirit with friends and colleagues.
