HOUSTON, Texas – Vince Gill, one of the most respected and honored singer/song-writer/musicians of his generation, performed at the 2015 Vintner Dinner & Wine Auction held by the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, the private foundation of George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the United States on Thursday, November 12.

The annual dinner, held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, featured fine wines hand-picked to perfectly pair with a multi-course dinner, a silent auction of one-of-a-kind Bush Family memorabilia and specialty items, and ended with a live auction of luxurious excursions and unique wine packages. Eleven vintners showcased their wines including Italics Red Blend, Presqu’ile Winery, Dunham Cellars and Sinclair Estate Vineyards.

More than 500 guests attended along with members of the Bush family – President George H.W. and Barbara Bush, daughter Doro Bush Koch and husband Bobby, nephew Hap Ellis and wife Robin and grandson Pierce Bush.

Among the guests and admirers of the former president were Ambassador Ryan Crocker, R.C. and Nel Slocum, Betty and John Hrncir, Herb and Natalie Kohler, John and DeeDee Acklam, Jack and Nina Lyons and Joel and Tammy Cowley.

Most of the proceeds came from the auction of grand wines, spectacular vacations and personal Bush collectables, which included Lladro figurines from the First Lady’s Collection; autographed Inauguration mementos; a Bronze statue of President Bush by renowned sculptor Glenna Goodacre; excursions to Maine, Carmel-By-The-Sea and the Napa Valley; an autographed World War II TBM Avenger model plane; and a set of pearls worn by Barbara Bush.

Nearly $450,000 was raised from the Vintner Dinner and will support the work of the Foundation, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum and The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
