Texas A&M University’s new West Campus housing – White Creek Apartments (a public-private partnership) – will be ready for students to begin moving in on Aug. 22, announced Department of Residence Life officials.

“We have been assured by the builder, Balfour Beatty, that, except for a few finishing touches, everything will be ready. Balfour Beatty has a history of on-time opening and they are committed to do so with this project,” said Carol Binzer, director of administrative & support services for Residence Life.

She said any students returning to campus before Aug. 22 and finding their spaces not available will be accommodated on campus.

“The new complex was designed to be a quality space for students. We want to make sure each space is in a top finished condition before students move in,” she adds.

White Creek has 1,266 beds arranged into one-, two- and four-bedroom apartments. The units have private bedrooms, private or semiprivate bathrooms, in-unit washer and dryer with spacious living rooms and kitchens with full-sized appliances. White Creek is completely wireless and the university is partnering with Philo Technology Corp.to bring residents a new, cutting-edge way to watch TV. Philo IPTV is live TV and DVR on any device – laptops, tablets, smartphones and TV sets – anywhere on campus.

A sneak peek of the new facility also was made available to students who have reserved spaces in the new facility and is now available online.

Binzer said Transportation Services will provide White Creek residents bus service to and from the central portion of the campus. On-site parking is also provided.
